Has anyone here ever purchased a forum outside of their current niche with the goal of combining it with their existing forum?

Do you think this is a good strategy for growth, or does it create more challenges than it’s worth?

On one hand, bringing in a new niche can introduce fresh ideas and a larger, more diverse audience. But on the other hand, merging communities with different interests and goals might lead to a diluted focus and confuse users.

How do you manage merging two communities with different interests or goals?

What are your thoughts?

I actually think a more diverse forum would have more activities than a niche forum. If you buy a forum outside of your niche, the forum is bound to expand and grow and attract members within that new niche.

Buying forums outside your niche can be a smart expansion strategy if approached carefully. It offers access to new audiences and potential growth. However, it also carries risks, such as audience misalignment, brand dilution, and increased management complexity. Thorough research and strategic integration are essential for success.
